Anton Corbijn is a Dutch photographer, music video and film director and graphic designer. He’s photographed Depeche Mode (with whom he’s collaborated since 1986), Joy Division, U2, REM, and directed music videos for bands like Nirvana, Henry Rollins, Metallica, Johnny Cash, U2 and Nick Cave.
Impressed by Joy Division's music in the late ’70s, Corbijn was inspired to move to England and pursue a career as a photographer. Years later, Anton’s first feature film, Control, released in 2007, focused on the life of the band’s late singer, Ian Curtis. Primarily shot in black and white, Corbijn’s photos of musicians and celebrities have appeared in Vogue, Rolling Stone, W, Harpers Bazaar and more.
